Mahsa Vahdat and Tord Gustavsen’s joint album “Traces of an Old Vineyard” was named by the British music magazine “Songlines” as one of the absolute best albums of 2015. The album contains newly written music for poems by the classical Persian poets Khayyam, Hafez and Rumi. The lyrics express a spectrum of the many sides of love and life: devotion and ecstasy, pain and sorrow. Together they develop the beauty of the Persian poetry and song tradition in the face of contemporary instrumental music. All the songs are arranged by Tord Gustavsen. Can also be done with drums in addition to piano and electronics.

Mahsa Vahdat has developed a highly personal style of performance, rooted in Persian classical and regional vocal music traditions and infused with contemporary and innovative expressions and influences
