Med spellemannsnominasjoner, lovpriste albumutgivelser fra verdensomspennende presse, og aktiv turnering i store deler av Europa, Canada og Øst-Asia, har både Hauge og Mulelid markert seg som sentrale stemmer for det 21.århundret på både den norske og internasjonale jazzscenen. Høsten 2022 startet deres duosamarbeid, og siden har de spilt over 40 konserter i Norge, Europa og Øst-Asia.

Etter releasekonserten proklamerte den anerkjente norske jazzskribenten Johan Hauknes: «Genuin samskapt musikk, der to sterke individuelle stemmer fletter seg sammen og skaper noe helt nytt”. Gjennom å blande Hauge sin klare og uttrykksfulle stemme og Kjetil sitt finurlige pianospill er nettopp dette en av duoens verdier. Å tilføre noe nytt og eget i bekledninger av kjente coverlåter, og gjennom originale låter. Det er musikk i et iørefallende landskap, men med en god dose motstand og overraskelser som tar lytteren med inn i deres musikalske univers.

Nå er Hauge og Mulelid samlet som duo, og det kan forventes en blanding av originale låter og nye bekledninger av kjente coverlåter. Musikken bærer preg av Hauge sin klare og uttrykksfulle stemme og Kjetil sitt finurlige pianospill. Det er musikk i et iørefallende landskap, men med en god dose motstand og overraskelser som tar lytteren med inn i deres musikalske univers. Våren 2023 kom deres debutplate “Blues and Bells” som mottok strålende anmeldelser fra presse i inn- og utland.

Dag og tid skrev at musikken bestod av “eviggrønne kvaliteter«, og Nettavisen hadde overskriften “en duoutgivelse som vil bli stående i tiår fremover”. I utlandet har musikken blant annet blitt omtalt på Kinesisk landsdekkende tv, og radiostasjoner i Japan. I Radio France og i Polsk media ble musikken omtalt som «ekstraordinært og emosjonelt» og “fengende landskap, men med en god dose overraskelser”, mens den franske nettsiden Culture jazz oppsummert musikken som “gjennomarbeidet og detaljrikt«.

Siril Malmedal Hauge er en norsk vokalist, instrumentalist, komponist og lyriker. Hun har sterke røtter i jazztradisjonen, og utviser en frasering og formidlerevne som få innehar. Siden 2016 har hun utgitt en rekke album, hvorav fem av de er under egen ledelse. Siril er utnevnt Jazz-ambassadør for NTNU og innehaver av «Jazztalent-prisen» til Moldejazz. For sin seneste utgivelse “Slowly, Slowly” (Jazzland, 2021), ble hun nominert til Spellemannsprisen i kategorien jazz.

Kjetil Mulelid er en norsk pianist og komponist som har etablert seg som en av Norges ledende jazzpianister med en egen og karakteristisk spillemåte. Siden 2014 har han turnert regelmessig og spilt konserter med egen musikk i store deler av Europa og Asia. Han har sluppet en rekke album de siste årene som komponist og utøver, 4 av dem i eget navn, hvor både millioner av avspillinger og Spellemann-nominasjoner har kommet etter som

Since they studied music together in Trondheim more than ten years ago, they have worked regularly together, and in later years through Siril’s own solo work. That has led to two album releases, as well as concerts at most jazz festivals and clubs in Norway’s nooks and crannies. Siril has also distinguished herself through a project with ECM artist Jacob Young, with two releases, awards from Japan, a nomination from the «Independent Music Award» in New York, and touring in large parts of the world, such as Europe, Japan and South Korea.

Kjetil, for his part, has released 10 albums with the quartet Wako, his own piano trio and as a solo artist – this has led to hundreds of concerts in Europe and Japan, millions of streams, and words of praise from the entire world’s musical press orchestra. Hauge and Mulelid are now together as a duo, and a mix of original songs and their own versions of well-known cover songs can be expected. Siril Malmedal Hauge is a Norwegian vocalist, instrumentalist, composer and lyricist. She has strong roots in the jazz tradition, and exhibits a phrasing and communication skills that few possess.

Kjetil Mulelid is a Norwegian pianist and composer who has established himself as one of Norway’s leading jazz pianists with his own and characteristic way of playing. Since 2014, he has toured regularly and played concerts with his own music in large parts of Europe and Asia.
